OUR MISSION:

The “Mission” of the Deadwood Zoning Department is to promote planned, managed, and balanced growth as a means of creating and maintaining an attractive “built environment”. 

We work to conserve and protect the city’s natural and historic environment.

Deadwood is made up of many unique neighborhoods, each with its own historic visual and/or environmental character.   It is our philosophy to make the City of Deadwood a better place now and in the future by providing quality planning.

We work with elected officials and residents to shape the city’s future, form a common vision and transform the vision into a reality.

OUR GOALS:

Promoting the land use, public services and transportation components of the City Comprehensive Plan

Provide a high level of professional and technical support to the Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Adjustment members in formulating and implementing developmental policies.

Working in partnership with other agencies/departments to accomplish the objectives and goals of the city.

OUR CUSTOMERS:

We provide quality, responsive, efficient and courteous service.

We treat our customers fairly and honestly, holding to high standards of professionalism, integrity and conduct.

We do our best to help our customers and meet their needs

We establish minimum standards for maintaining the quality of private property.
