STREET MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR/LABORER

The City of Deadwood Public Works Department is accepting applications for a Street Maintenance Equipment Operator/Laborer.

DUTIES include, but are not limited to, performing a variety of maintenance on streets, parking lots, street signage and lighting, storm drains, traffic lights and retaining walls. Works with Chamber of Commerce on special events.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must have knowledge of operating and servicing heavy equipment and working knowledge of general construction skills. Must have good public relations when dealing with the public and observe safe work practices. Must have a valid South Dakota Commercial driver’s license. Must be able to frequently lift or move 75 pounds. This individual works under the general supervision of the Public Works Director and under the direct supervision of the Street Superintendent. Pre-employment drug screening and background check is required, and applicant must comply with residency policy. This is a full-time position with full benefits at $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
