Main Street Master Plan
Deadwoods Historic Main Street has changed many times during its lifetime. Fires, floods, implementation of City infrastructure, and technology are just a few of the different reasons for change. In 2018, City of Deadwood embarked upon the development a Main Street Master Plan to update its infrastructure and aesthetics, and to strengthen its downtown as a dynamic economic engine, a community center, and a nexus of cultural activity.
The planning process for Main Street is expected to encompass approximately one (1) year of community engagement. The first public design charrettes were hosted in early 2020. That information was interpreted and will be presented back to the community in 2021. The Deadwood City Commission adopted the Main Street Master Plan on December 20, 2021.
