Fire Service Technician

The City of Deadwood Fire Department is accepting applications for a Fire Service Technician.  DUTIES include, but are not limited to, performing routine maintenance and repair work to the Fire Hall, ensuring all fire equipment and apparatus is in working order, and developing and monitoring the annual budget.       

QUALIFICATIONS:   Successful applicant must possess a SD Firefighter Certification or obtain within one year.  Must possess a valid SD driver’s license.  A CDL with tank and air brake endorsement would be a plus.  Must have basic working knowledge of all types of engines and pumps as they relate to fire service, have good people skills and the ability to work with the public, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and meet physical requirements including lifting 75 pounds.  This individual works under general supervision of the Fire Chief.  Pre-employment drug screening and background check is required, and applicant must comply with the City of Deadwood residency policy.  This is a full-time position at $25/hr with full benefits.  For a complete job description and additional information contact the Fire Hall at (605) 722-1212.  Applications are available at Deadwood City Hall or on the City of Deadwood website at www.cityofdeadwood.com.   Please submit application with resume and cover letter no later than 5:00 pm June 14, 2022 to the Deadwood City Hall at 102 Sherman Street, Deadwood, SD 57732.  The City of Deadwood is an EOE.
