Mount Moriah Cemetery Loop Trail

Enjoy this 1.0-mile loop trail near Deadwood. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 33 minutes to complete. This trail is great for walking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. You'll need to leave pups at home as dogs aren't allowed on this trail.

This is a beautiful cemetery walk of the gravesites of Wild Bill and Calamity Jane. There is great history and elevation with a steep climb to Seth Bullock's grave.

Accessibility: There are two (2) designated accessible spaces in the paved parking lot off of Mt. Moriah Drive at the south end of the trail. One of them is van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is paved asphalt. It is typically at least 6 feet wide.

The majority of the trail is estimated to be in the moderately steep (5-8%) grade category but there are steeper sections at about 0.3-0.6 miles when going north. Trail goers using wheelchairs/mobility equipment or strollers may need assistance along this entire route due to the consistent sections above a 5% grade (especially if using manual equipment).
