Place A Hold on Books or Movies Online

Go to our website homepage: cityofdeadwood.com/library.

Click on “Library Catalog”.

-On the Home Page you will see some of our new releases scrolling across the top.

Log in by entering your library card number and password (your last name with all lowercase letters).

Use the search bar on the top of the page to search for items.  You can search by title, author, subject, ISBN, call number or series.  There is also an advanced search option.

Click on the material you would like to borrow. 

Click “Place hold” on the right side of the screen.

Make sure “Deadwood Library” is selected as your Pick-up location.

Click “Confirm hold” (the dark brown tab under the “Show more options” drop-down menu).

The Library will contact you when your material is available for you to pick up. Please check your account to make sure your phone number and/or email address is current/correct.

If you are not able to find the material you are looking for in our Deadwood Public Library Catalog, you may expand your search to include material held by other libraries in our Black Hills Library Consortium.

Use the search bar on the top of the Library Catalog homepage.

On the right side of the search bar, you will see the name “Deadwood Library” displayed.

Click on the name “Deadwood Library,” and a dropdown menu will appear.

You may select a specific library to run your search through.

OR

You may select “All Libraries” to run your search through.
